Good morning ladies and gentlemen , welcome to karanganyar. I’m Adelia Stefhany from edu tour and travel , you can call me Adel . I will accompany you to the sukuh temple .

Now, we are at Karanganyar regency, this uniqe for its history and the characteristic it has a long history, so it has many historical edifices like temples of cetho and sukuh , Karanganyar administrative center is located in the city, about 14 miles east of the city of Sukarta . The distrct border the district Sragen in the northern, the district Ngawi & Magetan in the east, the district Wonogiri in the south as well as the district boyolali Surakarta and Sukoharjo in the west .

          Karanganyar also called as earth INTANPARI (industry,agriculture and tourism) One of the tourism object that exist in one karanganyar is sukuh temple

Sukuh is hindu temple, sukuh is located in the hamlet Berjo,Sukuh village,Ngargoyoso .  Sukuh Temple is one of the most interesting temple in South East Asia. It is full of erotic ornaments. Another unique thing is the shape of the temple looks like a Mayan pyramid from the Middle America. Unfortunately, this temple is still less-known.

If we look to the lower floor there is also a relief on the floor of the gate, in the form of "phallus" (male genitalia) which symbolizes Shiva and "yoni" (female genitalia) symbolizing goddess durga, encircled by a gold chain or “wiworo wiyoso anahut jalu”.

In another story, there is a myth about this relief, according to history, this gate is a place to test the virginity of a woman in ancient times.
Myth, if a woman is married, she was told to walk past this relief, if stagen or cloth wrapped around the waist loose, according to myth was the woman was not a virgin anymore. But if kembennya declining, it is believed that later after marriage, this woman like cheating.
